#CaringForIndia in association with NDTV

To complement government efforts in the fight against COVID-19, this initiative aims to curb the spread of coronavirus, drive better patient outcomes and ensure health workers are safe themselves. Our doctors, nurses and other hospital staff have been carrying the heavy burden of the pandemic, while working within the limitations of an inadequate public healthcare system. There are only 0.55 hospital beds per thousand population, and under 15% of ICUs across the country have dedicated critical care doctors.

Your contribution will help with the following:

Prevention

Provide door-to-door community screening in hotspots so Covid-19 positive patients can be detected early and curb the spread of the virus. Screening for a family of five costs ₹680 and testing for those with early symptoms is ₹2,400 per head.

Protection

As the number of cases rise and spread across India, provide certified PPE kits and masks to save our saviours from the virus, including Asha and anganwadi workers in rural areas. Protection equipment for one health worker costs ₹600.

Treatment

Scaling plasma donations from recovered Covid-19 patients, providing home care for mildly-ill patients and setting up remote monitoring of ICUs with doctors on call 24/7. The average cost for a patient in need of any of these services is ₹2,000 per head.
